The goal of a manicure is to help facilitate a healthy nail plate and cuticle and to give it a clean and polished texture. Having your hands and nails groomed by a skilled therapist at Sunday the Spa achieves a clean and professional look.
6 Step Procedure for Professional Manicures
Step 1: Cleanse. Remove all nail polish. Our manicurists use nail files to gently take down and shape the edges of the nails.
Step 2: Cuticle Care Technique. Your hands are dipped in warm water with little hand soap, for 3-4 minutes, remove and gently push back the cuticle with a rounded edge cuticle pusher and remove dead skin with a cuticle nipper.
Step 3: Nail Health | Oil & Buff. Using a nail buffer, your manicurist will polish the nail surface to create a consistent and shiny look.
Step 4: Exfoliating. Apply hand scrub. Gentle massage and once complete remove excess scrub with a hot towel.
Step 5: Massage. Apply hand cream and massage it will balance the colour of the skin and make the skin look healthier and smooth.
Step 6: Clean and Polish. A clear base coat is applied. The next step is to apply two coats of nail polish. Finally, your manicurist will paint on a top coat to seal the coloured polish.
